The Legacy Leaders at HCCHS was established in 2015 after five educators attended the Josten's Renaissance Conference in Orlando, Florida. The purpose is to strengthen the school’s culture and climate through recognizing and rewarding our students and staffulty. Strong attendance, A&B’s and zero discipline is the target. Birthdays, positive behavior, and leadership skills are something acknowledged each month. Students that show up and make good decisions each and every day deserve recognition. It is not just hard work inside the classroom but also outside of it. Legacy Leaders are community service driven. Non-profit organizations that Legacy Leaders promote include the Travis Manion Foundation, Breaking Bread, Relay For Life and Bowl to Impact a Child. Legacy Leaders plan fun activities like Christmas Spirit Week, Homecoming events and Legacy Rallies on the first day of school and throughout the school year. When it comes graduation time, seniors Legacy Leaders receive a cord to symbolize the impact they have made on the school and are proudly leaving their legacy.
Students will get an opportunity to apply to be a Legacy Leader and be involved as much or as little as their schedule allows. We encourage students to get involved so that they get opportunities to not only be involved at HCCHS, but within the Hopkins County Community.
